Yubao Wang (also known as Wang Yu-Bao) died in Phoenix, Arizona on March 18, 2024. Born in Shanghai in 1945, Yubao's artistic talent was recognized at an early age. He graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy and became an art instructor there. Yubao traveled throughout China and painted its diverse landscapes in a style that combined traditional Chinese art with Western impressionism. He lived in Australia, Japan, Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus, OH, New London, CT, and Phoenix, AZ, where he spent his last years. His paintings won awards in Australia, Japan, the U.S., and China. Yubao enjoyed meeting people, teaching art, and painting wherever he went. He is survived by a son, Mark K. Wang (Jin Yan) of Lancaster, PA and Austin, TX, and by two sisters and one brother, all of Shanghai, China.
