Rodrigue Francois Pelletier, affectionately known to many as "The Rod Father," passed away peacefully at home in Phoenix, Arizona on March 9, 2025. In his final moments he was not alone but with his beloved daughter Amy. Born on June 4, 1943, in Saint Andre, New Brunswick, Canada, Rodrigue lived a full and vibrant life which touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. His entire family emigrated to Maine and he graduated from St Martin of Tours High School in Millinocket. After school, he went on to a varied work life which included a lifelong career in roofing, carpentry, and construction (with the occasional side hustle that showcased his industrious spirit and passion for creation).
Rod was a man who found joy in the great outdoors, his heart thrived in nature as he enjoyed fishing, hiking, walking, cycling, boating, four-wheeling, and riding his motorcycle. He loved to spend time up at camp in Millinocket which had a wonderful view of Mount Katahdin. His love for adventure and nature was a defining part of his life. Especially, as he also spent many years embracing his wanderlust with open arms and traveling the country.
Rodrigue's enduring legacy lives on through his cherished family. He is survived by his children: Rod Pelletier II with his wife Stacy, Chuck Pelletier, Amy Boyer, Kevin Pelletier with his wife Jessica, and his stepdaughter Toni Andrick. His spirit will continue to shine brightly through his grandchildren: Rosalina Pelletier, Destinee with her husband Jeremiah Pelletier, Rebecca Pelletier, Chris and Nicole Seale, Zachary Boyer, Andrew Spykerman with his wife Natalie, Gavin, Michael, and Benny Pelletier, as well as Kylie, Joslyn with her spouse Dakota, and Zoey Caron. The joy of his life was encapsulated further in his great-grandchildren: Emma Boyer, Nichole Baker, Jessica Pelletier, Stella York, and Quinn McGreevy.
Rodrigue is also preceded in death by his parents, Martine and Enoil Pelletier, his stepson Robert Andrick, his great-granddaughter Michelle Pelletier, and his wives Judith Hafford, Kathleen Pelletier, and Carla Pelletier.
Each and every life he touched, especially those of his siblings Antonia and Richard Carterud, Marie and her late husband Richard Templeton, Corinne and William "Butch" Tunnell, Bertrand and Jeannie Pelletier, Gerard (his Godson) and Patricia Pelletier, and Daniel and his late wife Carol Pelletier, along with 17 nieces and nephews and too many great nieces and nephews to count will all carry a piece of him forward; his laughter, love, and wisdom will forever resonate in the memories shared amongst family and friends.
A devout Catholic throughout his life, Rod's faith provided him with strength and guidance. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and as we remember Rodrigue Francois Pelletier, we should appreciate the richness of his life which was marked by his joyful spirit, his willingness for new experiences, and his ability to always make new friends. He will be missed in the role he played in all of our lives whether as a husband, a brother, a father, a friend, a grandfather, an uncle or a cousin and i hope everyone who knew him will take the time to share a photo, a memory, or a personal story from his remarkable life with the rest of us.
