Irene F Hernandez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, in her lifelong home town of Glendale, Arizona. Born on April 29, 1944, she brought joy and warmth into the lives of many, and her vibrant spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Irene was one of the sweetest souls to walk this earth, radiating kindness and compassion wherever she went. With an innate ability to care for others, she was easy to love. Her personality shone brightly; she had a remarkable talent for comforting those around her, always offering a listening ear, a gentle smile, or a warm embrace. Irene truly was a blessing in the lives she touched, loving unconditionally and embodying a spirit of generosity and support that will be deeply missed.
Her culinary skills were nothing short of legendary, known for crafting meals that were filled with love and flavor. Irene firmly believed that "the food comes out perfect when you cook with love," and she extended this philosophy to every aspect of her life. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in decorating her home to the fullest extent, creating a magical atmosphere filled with laughter and joy for her family and friends.
Irene's love for family was unparalleled. She is survived by her cherished daughters, Deborah and Crystal, who carry forward her legacy of kindness, along with her adored grandchildren, Cole and Navy. They were a source of pride and joy for her, and she relished every moment spent making memories with them. She also leaves behind her nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Throughout her life, Irene enjoyed traveling and discovering new places, often embarking on car trips that filled her heart with adventure. She had a flair for games, whether it was visiting the casino, enjoying bingo, or staying sharp with her online games. Her vibrant spirit found joy in the little things, and her laughter echoed through every room she graced.
Irene's proudest accomplishments were woven into the fabric of her relationships. As an excellent mother and extraordinary friend, she listened without judgment and offered unwavering support. Her greatest achievement was inspiring others to be more kind, more understanding, and teaching them to be present in the moment. To be positive at all times and celebrate all the wins, not just the big ones.
Predeceased by her dear father, Henry “Kiki” Figueroa, her mother, Margarita Figueroa, her brothers, Henry and Ray Figueroa, her sisters Eleanor Huante, and Frances Matta, Irene carries with her the lessons and love they instilled in her throughout her life.
Though Irene will be profoundly missed, her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her guiding light will continue to shine, reminding us to embrace each moment with love and to spread kindness to everyone we meet.
