It is with deep sadness that we announce David M. Neal Sr, Age 57, husband of Josephine (Jodie) Neal, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on the early morning of August 2nd, 2025 after a long illness while residing in Peoria, AZ.

David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jodie Neal. He is also survived by his six children: two daughters, Kathryn (James) & Elizabeth, and four sons, Greg (Hope), David Jr, Hunter (Lindsay) and Noah. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Lily, Skyler, Sophia, Brayden, Logan, Scarlett, Hunter and Grayson. His brother James R Neal III, sister Laura Neal, sister-in-law Alissa Miller (Bryan) and his parents James R Neal Jr and Jean Neal. His mother-in-law Sharon Pierce. His best friends Sarah & Adam Mitchell. Plus many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. 

David served in the United States Navy for 14 years as a Navy Corpsman (FMF 8404). He served in Desert Storm, earning numerous awards and medals. Retired from the Navy in 2000 at the rank of HM1. David was a Life Member of the VFW. 

David was also a member of Marydel Fire Company and of Christiana Ambulance Company. Enjoying his time volunteering as a FF/EMT. David was also an avid member of New London Rod & Gun Club. 

After being diagnosed with end stage renal failure, David’s life focused on spending time with his family, from loving time with his wife, to time with his children and his grandchildren. Participating & cheering on his kids in various youth sports. He loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. David will always be known for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others. 

A private family viewing will be held on August 6th, 2025. David’s wishes will be honored and he will be cremated following the viewing. A celebration of life will be held on August 17th, 2025 at the VFW Post 1433 Sandy Coor (Glendale) at 3:00 PM for family and friends to pay respects. The family will then hold another celebration of life for David’s East Coast family and friends, that date and time to be determined.
